HackWithInfy Eligibility Criteria is a coding competition for final-year engineering students across India. It is a unique opportunity for engineering students introducing to rapid problem-solving and innovative thinking in coding from early on. It is the perfect stepping stone for upcoming full-stack developers to explore their passion for programming, problem-solving, and innovation.

This initiative was launch by Infosys in 2018 to nurture young talents. The objective of the program is to encourage young students and give them an opportunity to compete with the best coders in the country. Top performers in the competition win exciting prizes every year along with an opportunity to work with Infosys.

HackWithInfy Eligibility Criteria

HackWithInfy is open to all final-year engineering students of:

  • B.E./B.Tech
  • M.E./M.Tech

Students from all registered engineering institutes in India are eligible to apply.

Infosys is basically looking for programmers who are full-stack developers and who possess the following aptitude:

  • Passionate about programming and coding
  • Willing to achieve breakthrough innovation
  • Desire to solve tough challenges
  • Eager to embrace open source technologies
  • Innovative about next-gen tech
  • Wants to find the “why” rather than the “how” of coding technologies

HackWithInfy 2021 Dates: Exam Schedule

The HackWithInfy 2021 will be conducted in two rounds:

Round 1: May 5, 7, and 9

An online individual participation round on the Infosys Assessment Platform.

Final round (virtual Grand Finale): July 2 – July 5, 2021

The 48-hour hackathon among teams and the Grand Finale above all were hosted on Infosys Meridian.

The top 100 participants from Round 1 will compete in the four-day virtual grand finale in July 2021. The finalists will also get an opportunity for a pre-placement interview for the Power Programmer role at Infosys.

So, now that you know the dates. It’s time to register. HackWithInfy allows registration in two ways:

  1. Direct Registration
  2. Nomination.

The latter is available to students of a few select engineering colleges across India.

Direct Registration

Students need to register through an online portal through the following steps:

  • Enter your name, and email, and after that create a password to register.
  • Once you register, you will get a verification email.
  • Once you confirm the email, you will be taken to the main registration.

  • Fill in all your details and hit submit.

  • Each candidate shall participate through a single #HackWithInfy account.
  • There is no registration fee for students.
  • Candidates who provide incomplete, false, erroneous, fraudulent, forged, and tampered information will not be accepted and will be disqualified.

Through Nomination

  • Some colleges/institutes/universities have been selected by Infosys which can directly send their students.
  • Final-year students from these selected engineering institutes can fill out their registration by communicating with the placement officer of their college/institute/university.
  • To participate, the student will be required to submit their details through an application form which they can collect at their respective placement offices.

HackWithInfy 2021: Structure & Syllabus

HackWithInfy will have two rounds this year:

  • Round 1: Online contest
  • Round 2: Grand Finale – a 48-hour hackathon at Infosys Pune

All participants will receive an email regarding their status or progress in HackWithInfy. After each round, participants get informed of the results through email. Those who have successfully cleared the round also receive guidelines for the next round.

HackWithInfy is all about coming up with an efficient solution for a given problem statement. There is no particular syllabus for either round, but here is the list of coding problem topics that every participant needs to prepare:

  • Dynamic Programming
  • Greedy Algorithms
  • Backtracking
  • Stack
  • Queue
  • Mapping Concepts
  • Array manipulation
  • String manipulation
  • Tree
  • Graph
  • Bit Mapping and Hashing
  • Recursion and Heap
  • Divide and Conquer

Selection Procedure

The first round is a single-participant online challenge. Students have to solve three problems with varying levels of complexity within three hours.

The top students from round 1 are selected to participate in the grand finale of the competition. In the final round, finalists not only participate in the hackathon but are also acquainted with the culture and work at Infosys through various interactive sessions.

Finalists are divided into teams and are offered to select one problem statement from five options. Although, the problem statements are really based on real technology-based challenges that the world is grappling with. The teams have to create an end-to-end solution for the problem statement they selected.

The finalists are expected to use artificial intelligence, machine learning and insights, facial recognition, real-time location tracking, computer security, 3D modelling, etc. Each team will also be assigned a mentor, who would guide them in creating a solution for the selected problem statement and ensure that the solution is implemented to a satisfactory level in the assigned time.

Evaluation

The Judges assess the following parameters:

  • Code Efficiency
  • Difficulty level and solutions provided accordingly
  • Plagiarism is not allowed. There is a negative marking for plagiarism.

Prize

The solutions created by the teams would be judged by a panel of senior industry leaders of Infosys. The winning team of the competition will definitely receive prize money of INR 200,000, the first runner-up team INR 100,000, and the second runner-up team INR 50,000.

HackWithInfy will also offer pre-placement interviews for Power Programmer, Systems Engineer Specialist, and Systems Engineer roles at Infosys to top participants of the competition.

How to Successfully Crack HackWithInfy

Good knowledge of Programming Language

  • A good grip on different programming languages is a must
  • Choose a language that you are most comfortable with
  • However, C, C++, and Python are some languages every coder is expected to be proficient in.

Fast Typing Speed

  • Time is a constraint, therefore those who can type codes faster will have an edge.
  • The faster you can type, the more time you will have to recheck, resolve, and retype.

  • Choose a platform where you can practice regularly to improve your skills.
