What is InfyTQ?
InfyTQ is a certification exam conducted by Infosys. Clearing the InfyTQ exam shows that you are prepared for the IT industry and can contribute meaningfully to any IT company. InfyTQ also opens the door to multiple positions at Infosys.
For example, you can take part in an interview for three roles after clearing the InfyTQ exam:
- Systems Engineer
- Specialist Programmer
- Digital Specialist Engineer
The Digital Specialist Engineer position is the most competitive of these roles. Clearing InfyTQ allows you to interview for this position as well as the other two.
Who can sit for InfyTQ?
B.E., B. Tech, M.E., M. Tech., M.Sc., MCA, or MCM graduates and final year students can sit for InfyTQ. However, graduates from other disciplines are not allowed to appear for InfyTQ.

InfyTQ exam process
The InfyTQ exam takes place in two rounds:
Certification Round
The certification round is the first round of InfyTQ. In this round, you will be asked both objective and descriptive questions that test your knowledge in Programming and Database Management. InfyTQ focuses on in-depth understanding and practical knowledge, so rote learning won’t help you clear this round.
Any candidate who scores 65% or more in this round gets certified by InfyTQ. This certification also promotes their eligibility for the next round, the Advantage Round.
Advantage Round
To be a Specialist Programmer and Digital Specialist Engineer at Infosys, you must clear the Advantage Round of InfyTQ. Upon clearing the advantage round, the eligible candidates get a pre-placement interview offer, increasing their chances of getting into Infosys.
InfyTQ exam pattern
The exam patterns for the certificate round and advantage round are different. In the certificate round, there are 22 questions in total. There are two hands-on descriptive questions on Java/Python (depending on which you choose during the application process) and 20 objective questions. The total duration of the certificate round is 3 hours.
In the advantage round, candidates are given three programming challenges of varying difficulty levels. They have three hours to solve these problems and submit the results.
Both rounds are held virtually, and you must have a conducive environment (functional laptop with a webcam, quiet, isolated room, etc.) to successfully give the exam. You’ll be disqualified from the exam if you’re found using any unfair means.
What is HackWithInfy?
Unlike InfyTQ, HackWithInfy is not a test or examination per se. It’s a coding competition open to engineering students from around the country. Interested candidates must apply for HackWithInfy through the InfyTQ portal.
HackWithInfy comprises two rounds. The top performers of the first round get a chance to be interviewed for niche technical roles at Infosys. The top 100 candidates from the first round move to the second round. The final round is a group effort. The winner gets a cash prize of ₹2 lakhs, while the first and second runner-ups get ₹1 lakh and ₹50,000 each.
Eligibility criteria for HackWithInfy
The only eligibility criterion for registering for HackWithInfy is that the candidate must be enrolled in a B.E., B.Tech, M.E., or M.Tech program in India and must be over 18 years old at the time of registration.
Students can register for HackWithInfy through their colleges or the InfyTQ platform. However, note that candidates eligible for the advantage round of InfyTQ cannot participate in HackWithInfy.
