They agree that most graduates cannot even write code on their own and attribute this to the outdated curriculum and emphasise the need to focus on a more practical approach to teaching and encouraging students toward research.
Though it sounds bitter, I also believe the talent crunch is real:
- A sneak peek at ManGroup’s report of Talent Shortage 2020 reveals that 63% of companies in India deal with a lack of talent dominantly in IT, engineering services and Sales.
- Horrifyingly, a McKinsey report identifies that a quarter of engineers in India are unemployable. In another report by Wheebox, only 48.7% of graduates are employable as of 2022.
