It replaces TCS’s standard training modules, which span 2-3 months before joining.
The programme is intended to provide newly hired TCS employees with access to a variety of learning materials, such as virtual labs, online courses, and interactive simulations, as well as tools for collaborative learning and social networking.
It covers important topics such as HTML, JavaScript, Python, Unix fundamentals, Java programming, CSS, and new technologies like Big Data and AI.
This programme allows employees to learn at their own pace, on their own time, and from anywhere in the world.

Eligibility Criteria for TCS Xplore
Participation in Xplore is usually mandatory for newly hired TCS workers, serving as an important part of their onboarding process. The Xplore initiative provides freshers with technology training through digital learning as a first step following placement.
The eligibility criteria for TCS Xplore are as follows:
- You must have completed your degree or postgraduate studies with at least 70%
- If TCS considers your institute, you will be eligible for on-campus recruiting
- You must have a graduate or postgraduate degree in one of the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology (IT)
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
- Applied Electronics Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with a BSc/BCA
- You must have obtained 60% or above in the tenth and twelfth grades
- TCS Xplore participation is required for newly hired TCS employees as a prerequisite for formal onboarding
The Application Process for TCS Xplore
There is no set application process for TCS Xplore because it is a mandated course and test for applicants who have been placed with TCS.
Enrollment Process
- TCS will send you an email with the programme start date and enrollment instructions.
- Candidates can complete their enrollment procedure by visiting the TCS NextStep site or one of the recognised platforms.
- TCS Xplore is simple to use – all you need is a TCS.COM or Ultimatix Digitally Connected account.
- When an employee or newcomer logs into the platform, they can access Xplore by clicking on the “Learning” option.
- They can then browse through a library of courses and resources, enrol in classes, and track their progress.
Selection Criteria for TCS After Completing TCS Xplore
While Xplore is largely a learning and development programme, there are some assessment criteria that candidates must meet:
Assessment Process
- Throughout the programme, students are assessed on their digital abilities and suitability for corporate roles.
- Candidates must learn, practise various assignments, and perform well on proctored tests.
- Assessments may involve examinations on programming logic, numerical aptitude, linguistic skills, and technical subjects.
Incentives and Project Placements
- Candidates who excel in evaluations may be eligible for rewards and preferred project placements at TCS. These incentives recognise applicants for their devotion and commitment to their learning path.
- Candidates who score more than 55% in the evaluation will receive a Rs. 40,000 joining bonus. A score of more than 80% earns a bonus of Rs. 60,000.
- The trainees who score more than 80% in the proctored evaluation are regarded as BU-ready and undertake one week of on-site training, while others require three weeks of training before being granted access to the project.
- Participants who do not score 55%, fail, or skip the Xplore programme will miss out on the perks listed above. However, they will receive the offer letter after a small delay.
