Cognizant Aptitude Question Pattern for GenC 2024

The Cognizant aptitude questions round has 70 to 80 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each section of the test takes 35 minutes to complete, and candidates must attempt every section of the question paper. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

The GenC exam is identical to other aptitude tests you may have come across. It has three sections:

  • Quantitative aptitude
  • Logical reasoning
  • Verbal ability

Candidates who clear the first (MCQ) round are eligible for the Communication Assessment. This round checks a candidate’s communication and interpersonal skills. There are three parts to the Communication Assessment:

  • Reading and Grammar
  • Comprehension and Listening
  • Speaking

You are eligible for the final interview round if you clear the first and second rounds.

The GenC interview round includes both technical and general questions. The general questions evaluate candidates’ work ethic, vision, personality, etc., to gauge if they’d be a good fit at Cognizant. Eligibility Criteria for Cognizant GenC 2024

To be eligible to appear for Cognizant GenC 2024, you must be a 2024 graduate. The additional eligibility criteria are:

  • No backlogs in your 4-year engineering course
  • 60% or higher score in academics
  • Maximum year gap of 2 years
  • Graduate in any engineering stream

The syllabus for Cognizant GenC includes general aptitude, reading and writing skills, logical reasoning, and communication skills. Start preparing with basic mathematics and reading/writing skills. For quantitative aptitude, consider covering the following areas in your preparation:

  • Powers, decimals, and fractions
  • Averages
  • Ratio and Proportion

Apart from quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning, reading and writing skills are also necessary to crack Cognizant GenC. However, there is no fixed syllabus for these sections.

As you can see, the syllabus for Cognizant GenC isn’t incredibly challenging. With the right preparation strategy, everyone can pass the exam.

Cognizant GenC offers two job profiles: GenC and GenC Elevate. For GenC Elevate profiles, you’ll also be tested on programming skills and coding problems. There are no coding or pseudo-coding questions for the GenC profile.

Interview Tips for Cognizant GenC 2024

The interview is the final stage of Cognizant GenC. How you perform in the interview determines whether you’ll be placed at Cognizant.

The GenC interview consists of both technical and non-technical questions. The level of difficulty of the technical questions will depend on which profile you’re applying for. Here are some sample technical questions for Cognizant GenC interviews:

  • What does a multiplexer do?
