SuccessStory-Piyush-Ghosh

Piyush Ghosh, from Allahabad, is one of the several students who became a part of CodeQuotient’s SuperCoders program through his college. When he first enrolled for this program, he did not know how it would change the course of his life.

Like millions of young Indians, Piyush dreamt of working in the IT industry. With the growth of IT and the ever-increasing scope of possibilities, the sector is now a haven for the innovative minds of the country. Unfortunately, the Indian education system does not always prepare learners for the job market.

Thousands of young people enrol in engineering and computer application courses but fail to get the desired outcome after 3 or 4 years. According to a shocking report from Business Insider, 80% of engineering graduates in India are unemployable because of an unsatisfactory skillset. Classroom education is often not enough to be relevant in the ever-evolving job market. Piyush wanted to be in the other 20%, and the gates opened for him through CodeQuotient.

Piyush’s Journey with CodeQuotient

As Piyush was nearing graduation, he got to know about CodeQuotient from his college. CodeQuotient partners with colleges across the country as a part of its strategic alliance. Through these alliances, CodeQuotient gets to work with many learners who want to upskill and make themselves fit for the job market. Piyush was among the several students who got inspired to join CodeQuotient.

As Piyush says, “I had no idea about web development when I joined the CodeQuotient SuperCoders program.

However, he identified his knack for web development and wanted to pursue it. Instead of changing his interest, Piyush decided to learn things from scratch. The SuperCoders program runs for 3 months. Given the density of things he had to learn, it was not a very long time. Piyush decided to go for it. Fortune favours the brave, and Piyush emerged out of the SuperCoders program as an Associate Software Engineer Intern at Indus Valley Partners. Indus Valley Partners, or IVP, is one of the premier IT companies in India working in the finance sector. For Piyush, the opportunity to be a part of such an esteemed team opens a world of possibilities. From here, sky’s the limit for him.

What Piyush feels about CodeQuotient

When Piyush started his journey with CodeQuotient, he did not have hopes of a handsome contract at the end of the course. I never worked on any web-based projects, says Piyush, and becoming a software developer after three months sounded unrealistic to him. His intention was to learn as much as he can and make himself fit for the job market. The course of his career changed after joining the SuperCoders program.

Three months is enough time, according to Piyush, to be more than capable of joining most IT firms in India as a software engineer.

When asked about his experience with CodeQuotient, Piyush highlights two factors. According to him, these two factors elevate CodeQuotient above all the other courses available in the market.

1. Project-based learning

The core problem of the Indian education system is its overemphasis on theory. Students are forced to learn about theoretical concepts and ideas that have very little application in the real world. Like millions, Piyush also suffered from this in his college days. When he decided to join CodeQuotient, what appealed the most to him was the structure of project-based learning. Without that, it would have been impossible for Piyush to learn the ins and outs of web development in such a short time.

2. Live doubt solving sessions

The second most crucial factor that Piyush highlights are the live doubt solving sessions. “I loved the discussion forum to address queries and resolve doubts,” says Piyush.

Very few courses in the country offer students the opportunity to solve their doubts and clarify difficult concepts directly from the trainers. At CodeQuotient, learners and trainers regularly sit down to discuss problems and their solutions. The relationship between learners and trainers is not rigid and watertight in CodeQuotient. Learners are free to get in touch with their trainers, and the trainers are more than happy to solve even the smallest of doubts. Piyush attributes this to be another crucial factor behind his success.

For Piyush, the encouraging learning environment and helpful trainers set CodeQuotinet apart. He got deep into web apps in the course of his enrolment, and his trainers encouraged his passion to its fullest. For someone who entered the SuperCoders program without any knowledge of JavaScript, Piyush’s achievement is truly inspiring.
